Bought a new blu-ray player.

Apparently it also plays games.

Thank you, Mr. Sony.

I'd better not make this a habit

Over a month since my last post and all I can think of to post is another hilarious Onion sketch.

I love how at the end it just goes off the deep end. The black woman is fantastic.

OK, I'll try to pad this out with something from my life. But since you've last seen me I haven't done much.

I try to get a little gaming done every day. Over 70% of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy complete. Being a fan of the Grand Theft Auto and Syphon Filter games, this is a game I'd never thought of buying. But a couple of good reviews convinced me to buy it when I saw it available second hand. So far I've spent about 50 hours collecting coins, blowing bricks up, using the Force and driving Lego vehicles around. Why is everything Star Wars that the bearded one has nothing to do with so good? For sure when The Force Unleashed drops in price I'll pick that up, too.

Only 2 weeks left until winter vacation. No plans yet beyond visiting Mari's folks, who we've hardly been able to catch up with year. Even skiing looks doubtful, at least to Hokkaido. I hope that we'll at least be able to do some one day trips. Going twice would be an improvement on the once we went last year, when all we did was Hokkaido.

I've been going to Japanese classes twice a week for the last few months, but that will finish next week. The conversation has been really helpful, and talking to others in Japanese is good practice. Mostly I speak Japanese just with Mari, so I'm used to her expressions and our topics are well worn. Talking to others who have different vocabularies and interests has been fun and challenging. A new course begins in January and I'm considering returning. However I'd earmarked that money for a PS3...
